Service Description

Being outdoors is good for your wellbeing, and we at Climbaxe believe that being together as a family, sharing adventures and switching off from the daily grind is priceless. Over 2 days you'll rock climb, abseil & hike to one of the magnificent peaks Eryri (Snowdonia national park) has to offer. You need no previous experience as our guides will to show you the ropes, and it’s also tailored around your family's age groups & abilities. What's in store We will meet at a designated place in Llanberis for 9am on day one and go over the plan for the day, taking in weather conditions, group members abilities and kit checks. The 2 days outline will be: Day 1: Rock Climbing/Abseiling Depending on the age of our group we'll head to our first venue for a fun packed day of rock climbing. We'll go through all the safety elements required & learn the basics of tying in, belaying your climber & movement on rock. We'll break for lunch then head off to another venue to continue climbing, finishing the day with some abseiling & those essential hero photographs. The day will end around 4.30pm with a well-earned rest!! Day 2: Lets Climb a Mountain!! After meeting up at our pre-planned point, we'll go over the day's weather & kit checks, your guide will recommend a suitable route and summit based on the group members age and abilities, potential routes can be Yr Wyddfa via the Llanberis path, Moel Siabod via the Daear Ddu ridge, or the Devils Kitchen and up onto Y Garn. We'll aim to be back down for 4.30pm to grab a slice of cake and a well-earned cup of tea. What do I need? You'll be spending the day in a mountain environment so a day pack containing the necessary clothing to keep you dry & warm is paramount. This activity is non-residential, we can recommend accommodation in Llanberis. Good sturdy, well-worn boots are a must. Don’t worry we’ll have everything else covered! Upon booking a full kit list and further details will be sent. All our guides have full DBS checks and hold a minimum of a 16hour Rescue Emergency Care first aid qualification. All guides/leaders will carry safety equipment, full first aid kits & Personal location beacons, satellite communication devices (PLB’s). Due to the nature of this activity, the content will be adjusted in accordance with any children under the age of 10, mountain routes will be of a lower level just to accommodate those little legs.
