Service Description

Rock climbing has had a boom in popularity over the last few years, whether indoors, local crags or big walls around the world. The unknown can seem daunting, so we have put together our Introduction to rock climbing to “show you the ropes” so to speak. This is a fantastic day where you will have instruction in the skills and practices needed to get you started and accustomed to top rope climbing outside on rock. Based in various venues around Eryri (Snowdonia National Park) the day can be run with a maximum of 6 participants. What's in store? We will meet at a designated place for 9am on the morning of our day and go over the plan for the day’s events, taking in weather conditions, group members abilities and kit checks. Once at the crag the outline will be: - Crag etiquette - The use of guidebooks, understanding grades, choosing a route - Correct use of the climbing harness - Rope Management, Tying in - Understanding belay devices and their variations - Safe Belaying techniques in ascent and descent - Climbing Movement - Solving simple problems What do I need? You will be spending the day at venues in a mountain environment and finishing around 4.30pm so a day pack containing the necessary clothing to keep you dry and warm is paramount. If you have your own helmet and harness you are very welcome to bring them along, if not let us know and we can supply you with them. Don’t worry we’ll have everything else covered! Upon booking a full kit list and further details will be sent. Cost: £190.00 1:2 ratio (£50.00 per additional person up to 1:6 ratio) per day
