Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Service Description

The Classic round based in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, walk a circular route of 26.2 miles while climbing and descending the 3 largest peaks en-route all in under 12 hours. This is a favourite challenge of Climbaxe and one not to be underestimated, Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Inglebourough are peaks that are generally taken one at a time on a leisurely day walk, so putting them together and combined with the walking distance this is a challenge that's tough yet so rewarding and all in an area of amazing scenery and beauty. Climbaxe has been running this challenge for a number of years now and have helped, pushed, encouraged and led many clients over the finish line under the 12 hour challenge time. All our leaders are intimately knowledgeable of the route, know when to get the most out of you at the tough points and able to lighten the challenge with a bit of local knowledge on the way. As with all our packages our Guides/Leaders have the following: - Summer Mountain Leader Qualification as minimum (see www.mountaintraining.co.uk for details) - REC 16 hour first Aid Training and Certification - Full Public Liability Insurance - Carry extensive first aid kits on the route - Group Safety Kits - 2 Way Radio communication with other leaders (we work on a ratio of 1 Leader to 10 Clients) As much as your enjoyment of your time with us at Climbaxe is so important to us your safety is paramount, so we are also the only Company that currently use PLB's (Personal Location Beacons) on all our challenges and activities. This system allows the group to be able to communicate via satellite using the GLONASS and IMMARSAT satellite receivers, enabling the Leader to call for Help or Assistance when there is no other signal available. And also the group can be tracked from our office and information can be relayed if required. We at Climbaxe also understand that you might appreciate the finer things in life and although your going to push yourself on a mighty challenge the little things shouldn't go amiss, So we are able to provide a support service for you and your team with "Pit Stops" serving tea/coffee, water and juice, cake, chocolate bars and pastries. and also a support vehicle at two key points on the challenge. This service is at an additional cost of £25.00 per person and is only available for teams of 10 or more.
